Dear Parents,
We are into the third nine weeks of school. Tomorrow, February 16, 2010 will be the hundredth day of school. We will celebrate with school wide activities beginning at 2:00 PM.
We are working on Take-A-Kid to Dinner stories. We will have two students that will represent our class. The event is scheduled for April 22, 2010. I will let you know who will represent our class. On April 22,2010 the winners will travel by bus to Scott High School. Most grade levels at our school are participating in the event. While there they will eat dinner with students from other schools in Boone County and read their stories in small groups. So far the stories are very good!
This week we will be reading Helen Keller and the Big Storm . The reading and spelling tests will be given on Friday, February 19, 2010. Please encourage your child to read the story each evening. The students are required to take their reading books home each evening.
English: We will be working on adverbs that tell how.
Math: fractions, telling time, and making change
Special thanks to those parents who brought in snacks for the Valentine Exchange. I would also like to thank Noah's mother for bringing in books for the class to read. We appreciate all you do for our class.
If you would like to donate Kleenex Tissues we could use them.
If you have questions or concerns please don't hesitate to call.
Thanks for all you do!
Ms. Harless
